Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Tevekkül (the "App"), an Islamic companion mobile application, handles information when you use it on your iOS device. We designed Tevekkül with privacy in mind: we do not create user accounts, track users, sell data, or use advertising identifiers. Most app preferences are stored on your device, while a small set of external services is used to provide prayer times, Quran, hadith, audio, and subscription functionality.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Tevekkül does not collect any of the following:

• Email address, phone number, or any other account identifier
• User accounts or authentication credentials (the App has no login system)
• Contacts, photos, calendar, health data, or files from your device
• Advertising identifiers (IDFA) or cross-app tracking data
• Analytics or usage-tracking data

2. Information Processed Locally on Your Device

2.1 Location Data

With your explicit permission, the App accesses your device's location to calculate accurate prayer times (namaz vakitleri) and to determine the Qibla direction relative to your current position.

• Location is retrieved on-device using Apple's Core Location framework.
• Coordinates may be sent to Aladhan (api.aladhan.com) only to calculate prayer times for your selected date and location.
• Reverse geocoding (converting coordinates to a city name for display) is performed through Apple's operating-system geocoding services.
• Your location is not stored on our servers; we do not operate a user profile server or location history database.
• The last-known location may be cached locally on your device (in the app's private storage) so that prayer times remain available when you have no internet connection.
• You can revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Tevekkül.

2.2 Notifications

With your permission, the App schedules local notifications on your device to remind you of upcoming prayer times.

• All notifications are scheduled and delivered locally by iOS on your device.
• We do not use push notifications, and we do not send data to any notification server.
• You may disable notifications at any time in iOS Settings → Notifications → Tevekkül.

2.3 App Preferences

Your in-app preferences, such as selected reciter, widget configuration, saved verses, display name, and last-read Quran position, are stored locally on your device using iOS's standard secure storage (UserDefaults / SharedPreferences).

2.4 Home Screen & Lock Screen Widgets

The App provides iOS widgets that display the next prayer time on your Home Screen or Lock Screen. Widgets read prayer-time data from the App's local storage on your device. No data is transmitted externally to power the widgets.

2.5 Audio Playback

The App plays Quran recitations. Quran text, translations, and audio may be requested from AlQuran Cloud (api.alquran.cloud). Hadith content may be requested from Hadith API (hadithapi.com). We do not create a listening or reading history on our servers.

3. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

Tevekkül offers optional auto-renewable subscriptions to unlock premium features. All payment transactions are processed by Apple through the App Store using Apple's StoreKit framework. We never see, receive, or store your payment information (credit card number, Apple ID, billing address, etc.).

We use RevenueCat as a client-side wrapper around Apple's StoreKit to validate purchase receipts and to manage subscription entitlements. When you purchase, restore, or open the paywall, RevenueCat may process:

• An anonymous, randomly generated app user ID
• Apple StoreKit receipt data (for entitlement validation)
• Basic device and country metadata provided by Apple

RevenueCat does not receive your Apple ID, email, name, or any other personal identifier from us. Their processing is governed by their Privacy Policy.

4. Third-Party Services

The App integrates with the following third-party services, each limited to a specific technical purpose:

• Apple StoreKit — processes all in-app purchases and subscriptions.
• Apple Core Location — provides on-device GPS and reverse geocoding.
• RevenueCat — validates subscription entitlements as described above.
• Aladhan (api.aladhan.com) — calculates prayer times from coordinates and selected date.
• AlQuran Cloud (api.alquran.cloud) — provides Quran text, Turkish translation, and recitation audio.
• Hadith API (hadithapi.com) — provides hadith books, chapters, and hadith text.

The App does not integrate any advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs (e.g. Firebase Analytics, Google Analytics, Facebook SDK), crash-reporting SDKs, or AI/LLM services.

5. Children's Privacy

Tevekkül is a general-audience Islamic app and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Since the App does not collect personal information at all, it complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and Apple's Kids Category guidelines by design.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Because we do not collect personal information on our servers, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our side. All app data (location cache, preferences, last-read position, widget data) is stored locally on your device and is automatically and permanently deleted when you uninstall the App from your device.

To manage or cancel your subscription, use iOS Settings → [Your Apple ID] → Subscriptions, or visit apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.

7. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA, KVKK)

Even though we do not collect personal information, you retain the following rights under applicable privacy laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and Türkiye's Kişisel Verilerin Korunması Kanunu (KVKK):

• The right to know what data is processed (this Privacy Policy)
• The right to withdraw permissions at any time via iOS Settings
• The right to delete all local app data by uninstalling the App
• The right to contact us with any privacy-related question

8. Data Security

Tevekkül limits network requests to the services required for app functionality. Local app data is stored within the App's sandboxed private storage, protected by iOS's built-in file-level and hardware encryption.

9. International Users

The App is available worldwide and functions consistently across all regions. No region-specific data collection occurs. Prayer time calculations are automatically adjusted based on the user's location.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Material changes will be reflected in a subsequent App Store update. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
